These talks will be self-contained presentations of mathematical concepts and theorems. They are intended to be accessible to all mathematics students.
 
 

The earliest stirrings of mathematical thought still leave traces today, and it is possible to determine (within limits) how our very earliest ancestors conceived such concepts. This talk will look at how we can know these things and what we can discover. There are no mathematical prerequisites!
