Measuring Equations

Dr. David Paganin

Suppose I show you a movie, of some people playing billiards. Given such a movie, can you deduce the laws of Newtonian mechanics? Taking this type of question a little further, one may enquire into the possibility of deducing certain field equations of mathematics physics, given that one has collected certain measurable quantities regarding those fields. So, how do you "measure" the field equations of physics?
