These talks will be self-contained presentations of mathematical concepts and theorems. They are intended to be accessible to all mathematics
students.  Coffee, tea and drinks will be provided.

In this talk, we shall look at neural networks from an historical perspective. We shall look at the evolution from `analogue computers' to neural networks, via some naive models of neurons. Some interesting applications will also be presented.
