These talks will be self-contained presentations of mathematical concepts and theorems. They are intended to be accessible to all mathematics students. Coffee, tea and drinks will be provided.

We know that there is significant ozone depletion over Antarctica each spring associated with the ozone hole, that there is increased UV radiation where there is decreased ozone, that increased UV radiation leads to skin cancer, and Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer of any country in the world.

This can be summarised as:
Antarctic ozone hole => increased UV radiation => increased skin cancer in Australia.
