Killer Asteroids

What are the facts behind the popular media interest in asteroids or comets that
may collide with the Earth and destroy much of the life on Earth? Can such large
bodies be deflected or destroyed in interplanetary space? We will review past
impact events and how the scientific community came to the realization that
stones can fall from the sky.
