M4561 Clouds and aerosols

Syllabus: This unit serves as an introduction to atmospheric microphysics. We examine the physical processes governing the generation, evolution and removal of atmospheric aerosols. Building on this, we examine the evolution of cloud droplets in both warm (liquid) and cold (ice) clouds. We discuss the role that clouds and aerosols have in atmospheric dynamics, climate and health issues.

Prerequisites: ATM3011
