M4312 Communication in mathematicsAims: The aims of this topic are to give experience in communicating mathematics to talented students in secondary colleges. Under guidance, the candidate will develop programs of mathematics enrichment that will aim to complement the formal study undertaken at school. The candidate will explore different modes of communication of mathematics - graphical, logical, computational and verbal - and their interaction.Syllabus: Communication of mathematics; psychology of mathematics education; graphical, algebraic, computational and verbal representations in the communication of mathematics.
